Certification - Auswest Timbers

AFS World Class Forestry Standard

Auswest Timbers sources its timber from Australian eucalypt forests managed by State Government agencies in Western Australia and Victoria. The Forest Products Commission of WA and VicForests manage forests in accordance with internationally recognised standards of sustainability. Based on the Australian Forestry Standard, the Responsible Wood scheme ensures buyers can be assured of the source of the timber they are buying when it carries a chain of custody claim.

Auswest Timbers achieved chain of custody certification in 2009 that is independently audited each year by specialist auditors accredited through the Joint Accreditation System of Australia and New Zealand.

Certification provides assurance that timber supplied by Auswest Timbers with the chain of custody claim originates from certified Australian forests, and requires all other companies along the supply chain to be Responsible Wood Chain of Custody certified. The Responsible Wood standard is endorsed by the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) and Auswest Timbers also maintains PEFC certification for its timber products.
